A little bit of everything carp, barbel and chub
Took Tyler fishing as I normally do over the holiday period. We fished a commercial close by for countless roach (small ones) and some bigger carp.
Tyler did very well fishing the waggler and his casting is getting much better.
Sunday I decided on a short session on the Kennet. I arrived to find a blustery wind and some rain. However once it got the dark the heavens opened. The river was quite clear so my hopes were not particularly high. So I baited with hemp and sat back waiting for something to pull my string. Nothing much would happen in the daylight.
So the rain arrived but none of the barbel turned up and the isotopes remained motionless.
So I packed up at 9pm on a Sunday night.
The drive home provided rain all the distance. Still everything has a silver lining. The BA would be high and just right for barbel.
So the next day I ventured out onto the Avon. I had a couple of friends staying during the evening so I needed to be back early.
Dan and Vince Williams I had met several years ago fishing in Oxford for tench and remained ever since. Remember I fish with them on Dan’s 21st birthday in Spain on the Ebro during September.
So off I went to the a swim which normally produces a fish or so and they can be doubles.
Nothing much came along during the session. Then a 2lb chub decided to like my boilie and hung itself on the end.
Then the afternoon passed into evening and the sunset was fantastic.
