Paul and Geoff on the river Wye and a 11lb barbel
Normally I guide Geoff Paul and Jeff barbel fishing on the river Wye also some tench fishing. This time there was to be only two as sadly Jeff had passed away at a young age. I was so sorry to hear about this.
We met for a 2 days session on a very moody Wye. The beginning of the week with Dave and Mike we had 11 barbel however the river had dropped and became much more difficult.
Again I’m not going to write too much about the two days other than to say it was slow going. We stuck it out in one swim for the first swim and struggled. To be fair Paul was reluctant to move. We caught barbel and one or two good chub however it was slow going.
The second day was equally as slow and eventually we moved swims. This proved to be an instant success with plenty of bites and fish landed.
Geoff had a good fish of just over 8lbs.
Paul though had the fish of the two days a lovely looking barbel of 11lbs 2oz.
