25th May, tench fishing tackle for sale!

Well I’ve just returned from fishing Horseshoe again for 48hrs and blanked. Well I say blanked but a 2lbs 2oz perch and 1lb rudd and a small roach didn’t actually set the world on fire. Unlike the weather which did feel rather warm. The summer bay was closed off for the carp to spawn and guess where the tench were, that’s right feeding on the carp spawn. I did see some exceptional carp spawning which I might just target later in the year.

On my way home I stopped off to look at the Bristol Avon. Armed with some pellets I walked a couple of sections of river and saw some barbel and chub. No really big fish but some approaching doubles I would say.

The river is up about a foot on last years level which should be good for the coming season. The weed growth though is later than last year with the cabbages hardly showing.

I’m soon to be on holiday for a couple of weeks, then it’s back onto the tench again, that’s if I’ve not sold the gear by then!
