Anglers mail feature

Some time ago now I was asked by Duncan Charman to help him with a feature on grayling fishing on the river Itchen. I don’t normally like these things as you expose venues and swims to others. It’s the other anglers who fish the venues I feel for. Lots of publicity which is not welcome from their perspective. Anyhow this is a well known fishery, Lower Itchen fishery.

We met early in the morning and waited for the fishery to open. Got to say Duncan was a joy to work with, he would ask questions take photo’s. All I had to do was provide the fish. There were many grayling in the river and some that went over the 1lb mark. no big fish turned up.

I was pleased with the end result and at 4 pages it was a satisfactory piece of work.
