Dave and Dad Steve on the river Wye with a rare double figured barbel
Dave and Dad Steve wanted a day on the river Wye fishing for barbel. They were down for a weeks holiday fishing some local lakes.
We met early in the morning fishing a swim where we caught a couple of barbel. However for most of the summer and autumn the river was low and clear.
Steve’s first barbel was 5lbs 10oz and a pb for him.
Dave caught a couple however the sport was very slow. We moved to another swim one where I knew there were some good sized barbel.
Steve and Dave caught a couple of nice fish.
Then Dave hooked into a really good fish that took line from the reel and fought like a demon. As I slipped the net under the fish it looked like a double and sure enough it was, 10lbs 13oz so almost an eleven.
Steve to increased his pb with a 7lbs 14oz barbel.
They both had a wonderful time and they were great fun to fish with. I hoped they had a great week.
